Snorfcon is a unusual name, maybe even silly. It's meant to a wordplay
or pun on another unusual convention called smofcon.
Smofcon is an international convention for convention
organisers, and the acronym SMOF stands for 'Secret Masters Of
Fandom'. However, 'Secret Nordic Masters of Fandom' gives the acronym
SNMOF that can't be pronounced by mere mortals. So, in the old days
when the elder SMOFs were still active in the world of mortals, they
named the Nordic meeting Snorfcon.
What happends?
Snorfcon happends yearly and is in essence a meeting place for
convention organisers from all the nordic countries. It's meant to be
an event where we focus on sharing our experiences, become inspired
and to build friendships across the borders. It is also an 'bottom up'
event where the participants decide on what they want to hear, not an
panel of 'experts' or the 'al-mighty' con committee.
We use programming techniques to
ensure that everyone are actively participating.

We have currently 6 people signed up where 3 were from abroad. This is a bit disappointing but who we should be disappointed at is another matter. Maybe the information hasn’t been good or timely enough? I doubt there is lack of interest for the general idea. Therefore we are postponing Snorfcon and want feedback
